This is one of the questions that I receive the most. Like meditation itself, there are MANY ways to meditate with crystals. You can use guided meditation, walking meditation, singing or sound meditation... the list goes on and on. Depending on your particular learning style and intuitive skills, you may prefer one over another. I will talk about basic crystal meditation methods now, but will continue this blog on future posts to explain other methods.
Why would one want to meditate with crystals? Depending on who you ask, meditating with crystals can be the best way to connect with stones and develop a deeper relationship with them. This relationship is important when you want to channel a stone to learn more about what healing properties they have and what they have to offer. Or if you want to work with their energy consciously and incorporate it into your energy field more throughly. For instance, most of the time when we wear crystal jewelry we end up just putting it on without further engagement with the crystal energy itself. Therefore, wearing it may not work with our energy field as in depth as it could have if we took the time to connect with it and make the intention of working with this energy. When you meditate with crystals you can be assured that the energy of that crystal is really incorporating in yours to the fullest extent.
Sooo... Here are a few suggested crystal meditation methods. Try them out and choose one or a few that works with you the best.
1. Meditate. Hold A Crystal. Meditate: This is the first method of meditating with a crystal that has I have tried, the most simplest, and in my personal opinion, the most effective. Meditate for 5 minutes without a crystal, then grab your chosen crystal and meditate for an additional 5 minutes or longer. Meditating first helps to calm your mind so that its not super active or gets in the way of your connection with your crystal. If you find your mind wandering then bring it back to the crystal in your hand. Feel it's weight in your hand, visualize what it looks like, sense its energy and how it feels (Tingly? Hot? Strong?), etc.
***Extra Tip***: Hold the crystal in your left hand. Your left hand is controlled by the right side of your brain which is the side that is more associated with creativity and intuition.

2. Breathe in the Crystal Energy Into Your Heart & Let it Radiate Into Your Energy Field/Aura: This is a great visual meditative method which can help you to practice directing the energy of a crystal for healing yourself and others. Hold your chosen crystal and visualize the energy and aura radiating out from it. On several deep breathes, breathe that energy into your heart and just like your heart circulates your blood throughout your entire body, allow the crystalline energy to radiate into your entire being on the out breath. Relax and meditate in this energy.
3. Transport Your Consciousness Inside Your Crystal: If you have been working with lucid dreaming then you might be drawn to this method. When you have chosen a particular crystal or stone to work with, imagine that your entire consciousness energy (all your thoughts) are collecting into one area of your body. Then, direct that energy out of your body and into the crystal or stone. When you are inside the stone you can open your etheric eyes and look around. What does it look like? How does it feel? You may decide to talk to the spirit or faerie of the crystal or just sit and meditate within it. When you are done, ask that all your energy be transported back to your physical body, ground yourself by sending light from your root chakra to the center of the earth, feel your feet on the ground and slowly open your eyes.
Other resources: If you are brand new to meditation itself I would highly recommend reading, "The Power of Now" by Eckhart Tolle. This book is very thorough in discussing the mind and ego which can help you overcome the hardest obstacles in meditating. Meditation isn't all about making the mind silent or telling yourself, "ok don't think, don't think, don't think". Its about letting whatever comes up in your mind to be there without judgement as you thank if for presenting itself and letting it go like a balloon.
